West Palm Beach is a rather large community on the east coast of Florida and is technically the oldest municipality in Florida. It was during the Roaring Twenties that West Palm Beach became a mecca for the wealthiest people in the country. The area boomed and expanded exponentially as more people came from up north. In 1928 however, West Palm Beach suffered a massive blow in the form of the Category Five hurricane that blew through the area. Thousands died, buildings were destroyed, ripped from their foundations. The vitality of the area just about died. But the wealthy wanted their playground back and set about rebuilding as soon as they were able, just in time for the stock market crash of 1929. The Great Depression stalled any effort to rebuild their town. It wasn’t until after World War II that West Palm Beach began to claw its way back to the former glory.
Today visitors come to see the Palm Beach Zoo, the Rapids Water Park and the world famous Lion Country Safari. As the southern headquarters for Donald Trump, it serves as the center of his business and communications.
The mild subtropical climate is reflected in the architecture with the attractive window protection of wood shutters or plantation shutters. And the subtropical themed décor persists to the interior of the homes with custom window treatments and custom blinds. The vertical blinds with beach scenes and tropical colorations blend with their environment. Motorized blinds and roller blinds are also utilized as custom window coverings as well. All of these help to keep the house cool in the summer and remain attractive all year around.
